The Butterfield Park District will be hosting a second public meeting on potential park and recreation improvements at Glenbriar Park including the future land acquisition and park development at IL 56 & 53. The Park District has held several design visioning meetings in the past month and this will be the final design presentation in preparation of applying for an upcoming state grant from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources in July of this year. The Open Space Land Acquisition and Development grant will assist the Park District in securing partial funding for the acquisition of the parcel at IL 56 & 53 from its current partnership with The Conservation Foundation.

The Park District is very interested in sharing this information with our community and discussing the project in more detail. The public meeting will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday June 10th, 2014 at the Park District’s Administration and Recreation Building, 21 w 730 Butterfield Road, Lombard Illinois 60148. Park District Director Larry Reiner said “While we have had several opportunities for community input, we are working hard to have a plan that meets the needs of the community for many years to come and addresses some long standing issues on this site. Everyone is welcome to be part of the process.”

Please contact the Park District at (630) 858-2229 x 12 for more information.
